    Hi Holly,

Thanks for the wonderful videos. I do have a question though. I’m trying to put a contact form next to a video in the top feature area kind of like a squeeze page but I’m not trying to collect emails for auto responder. Rather I would like clients to contact me for a free in home consultation and estimate. How would I go about getting this done? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Holly,

Ok, I’m using contact form 7 but when I put the code into the text widget and refresh my screen both the video and the contact form are there. They just don’t fit right. The video overlaps the contact form. Is there a way I can make them both fit in the top feature area? I have also tried the contact form 7 widget but I get the same result. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Holly.

    Jim,

There is a way–give me a some time and I’ll record a video that shows you how to do this.

Hi Holly! Love your videos and the theme. Where can I find info about how to hide pages in the header, except the “home” page and have them visual in the footer (pages like: “about us”, “contact us”)
Apreciate suport. have been looking all over and trying the wp hide post but cant get it to work properly.
    Thanks

    Hi Lily,

There are a couple of ways you can do this. You can define which pages you want to show in the menus by using the “Menus” option under Appearance. With the footer–I actually edit the footer.php to add the pages that I want to show. I think I have a video about that..let me see if I can find it. If not I can shoot one off real quick

    Holly,
I am trying to have two columns in my top feature–showing on the home page only. I wanted to say something about myself on the left and put some kind of ad on the right.

When I put my bio in a text widget and saved it as FEATURE TOP 1,
I got the following message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_About() in /home/shari116/public_html/wp-content/plugins/widget-logic/widget_logic.php(161) : eval()’d code on line 1

AND THEN the rest of my home page has disappeared. Can you advise what I may have done wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, ShariLee

Hi – at about 1:30 of the video you are showing youtube embed code in the feature_top box widget. But when I copy code, there is no right-click option to paste it in that box. What steps are missing?
    Thanks!!

    Hi Phil,

Do you mean the paste function? Hold down CTRL key and the V key on your computer and you can past the code. I think I understand what you’re saying–just not sure sure 🙂

    Hi Holly,

    Welcome back!

I want to put an image in this top section. It may or may not link to something. How do I do that with a link and without a link.

Thank you for your videos. They help so much.

    Daisy

    Hey there Holly,

I can’t seem to get 2 widgets to show side-by-side in the Top Feature area.

I’m using 2 text widgets, the first I’m putting YouTube embed code, the second I have the Google Voice call button.

In the settings area, the columns are set to “2”, but the video and the Google Voice button are showing one under the other, instead of side by side.

    PLEASE HELP!!

Thank you so much for all your great videos!

I just finished a 5-video series to show you how to work in the top feature area of this theme. Let me know if they help.

    Hi Holly
This is my first visit to your blog. I like it. I am sure i am going to make big strides towards getting my own blog set up.
One question. where can I find the answers to Daisy`s query about the use of images within widgets in the top feature?

  18. Holly Powell on November 7, 2012 at 8:10 am

    Hi John,

I hope this answers your question. http://simplehowtovideos.com/how-to-add-pictures-to-the-widget-area-of-your-blog

Oh wait I just read it again–you mean how do I add images with the top feature? I have to re-do those 5 videos about working in the top feature area. And will make sure I answer your question when I do that.
    Thanks
    Holly Powell
